The St. Thomas More Sabers basketball team (Champaign, IL), was nudged 46-43 in Wednesday's league battle with the host Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL)
The Grey Ghosts now sport a 14-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tolono Unity for a Illini Prairie battle on Friday, February 2. Illinois Valley Central will battle a Rockets team coming off a 79-65 league win over Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 20-2.
The Sabers (15-8) will now prepare for their battle against Rantoul (Rantoul, IL). The Eagles come into the Illini Prairie battle with a 4-14 record. In their last battle, Rantoul edged Monticello (Monticello, IL), 77-75, in a league battle.
