Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) and the visiting Providence Grove Patriots (Franklinville, NC), saw Southwestern Randolph's basketball squad knock off Providence Grove by a count of 56-41.

With the victory, Southwestern Randolph upgrades its record to 7-13 on the campaign. The Cougars host Randleman (Randleman, NC) to play the Tigers in a 1A/2A Piedmont challenge on Friday, February 2. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 15-4. Randleman won 76-66 in their recent league challenge against Eastern Randolph (Ramseur, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the Trinity Bulldogs (Trinity, NC) in a 1A/2A Piedmont test, on Tuesday, February 6. Providence Grove will attempt to advance on its 6-14 season record. The Bulldogs go into the test with a 13-8 record after their 71-69 league loss to Uwharrie Charter (Asheboro, NC).
