South Umpqua Lancers (Myrtle Creek, OR) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sutherlin Bulldogs (Sutherlin, OR), 49-42 in a league bout.

With the win, South Umpqua upgrades its record to 5-11 on the season. The Lancers host Glide (Glide, OR) to play the Wildcats in a 3A Far West bout on Friday, February 2. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 5-15. Glide lost 70-32 in their recent league bout against Douglas (Winston, OR)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Coquille Red Devils (Coquille, OR) in a 3A Far West bout, on Friday, February 2. Sutherlin will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record. The Red Devils go into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 43-42 league win over North Valley (Grants Pass, OR).
