New Mexico High School Basketball - Sandia nudges La Cueva

January 31, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87122

In Wednesday's league outing, the Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) basketball squad nipped the host La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM), by a margin of 45-41.

The Matadors (17-2) will now prepare for their outing against Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM). The Panthers go into the 5A District 2 outing with a 10-9 record. In their last outing, Piedra Vista got by West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM), 58-38, in a league outing.

The Bears now own a 14-4 record. They play next when they travel to Farmington for a 5A District 2 outing on Friday, February 2. La Cueva will clash with a Scorpions squad coming off a 74-53 league win over Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Scorpions record now stands at 17-2.
