Leland Comets (Leland, MI) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Suttons Bay Norsemen (Suttons Bay, MI), 49-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Leland upgrades its record to 7-4 on the season. The Comets travel to Onekama (Onekama, MI) to clash with the Portagers in a Northwest bout on Friday, February 2. The Portagers go into the bout with a record of 6-5. Onekama lost 57-53 in their recent league bout against Frankfort (Frankfort, MI)

Next up, the Norsemen clash with the Kingsley Stags (Kingsley, MI) in a Northwest bout, on Friday, February 2. Suttons Bay will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Stags go into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 44-39 league win over Buckley (Buckley, MI).
