Santa Clara Bruins (Santa Clara, CA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mountain View Spartans (Mountain View, CA), 35-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Santa Clara upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Saratoga (Saratoga, CA) to play the Falcons in a bout on Friday, February 2. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 12-7. Saratoga won 27-19 in their recent league bout against Wilcox (Santa Clara, CA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Kathleen MacDonald Condor (San Jose, CA) in a bout, on Thursday, February 1. Mountain View will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Condor come into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 44-26 league win over Gunn (Palo Alto, CA).
