Carolina International Comets (Concord, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Sugar Creek Wildcats (Charlotte, NC), 52-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Carolina International upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Comets travel to Valor Preparatory Academy (Concord, NC) to clash with the Owls in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Owls go into the bout with a record of 2-7. Valor Preparatory Academy lost 59-48 in their recent non-league bout against Piedmont Community Charter (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Jackson Day Mariners (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. Sugar Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Mariners go into the bout with a 10-12 record after their 69-21 non-league loss to Carolina International (Concord, NC).
