Heritage Academy Patriots (Columbus, MS) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Lamar Raiders (Meridian, MS), 3-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Patriots face the Starkville Academy Volunteers (Starkville, MS) in a 7A Region 2 challenge, on Friday, February 2. Heritage Academy will attempt to better on its 8-5 season record. The Volunteers enter the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 2-0 league win over Lamar (Meridian, MS).

The Raiders now have a 3-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Magnolia Heights for a challenge on Thursday, February 1. Lamar will face a Chiefs team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Heritage Academy (Columbus, MS). The Chiefs record now stands at 4-6.
