The Surry County Cougars basketball team scored 42 points and limited the host Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech Dragons to 33 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now possess a 2-16 record. They play next when they travel to West Point for a non-league game on Monday, February 3. Surry County will confront a Pointers team coming off a 81-65 league loss to King William (King William, VA). The Pointers record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech falls to 0-13 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to Brunswick (Lawrenceville, VA) to confront the Bulldogs in a Tri-Rivers game on Monday, February 3. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 8-8. Brunswick lost 55-35 in their recent non-league game against Petersburg (Petersburg, VA)
