In Friday's league contest, the visiting Bowie Volunteers basketball team scored a good 61-48 triumph over the Arlington Colts.

The Volunteers (18-11) will now prepare for their contest against Haltom (Haltom City, TX). The Buffalos go into the 6A Region I District 8 contest with a 6-17 record. In their last contest, Haltom was topped by Martin (Arlington, TX), 53-40, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Colts battle the Lamar Vikings (Arlington, TX) in a 6A Region I District 8 contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Arlington will attempt to better on its 12-18 season record. The Vikings go into the contest with a 9-21 record after their 52-46 league loss to Sam Houston (Arlington, TX).
