The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Katahdin Cougars (Sherman Station, ME) and the host Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME), observed Katahdin's basketball team overwhelm Ashland by a score of 89-17.

The Cougars (14-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Southern Aroostook (Dyer Brook, ME). The Warriors come into the D North challenge with a 8-9 record. In their last challenge, Southern Aroostook trounced Wisdom (St. Agatha, ME), 70-38, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the Madawaska Owls (Madawaska, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 3. Ashland will attempt to improve on its 4-14 season record. The Owls come into the challenge with a 18-0 record after their 62-49 league win over Hodgdon (Hodgdon, ME).
