North Carolina High School Basketball - New Hanover triumphant over Ashley

January 31, 2025: Wilmington, NC 28412

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) and the host Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), observed New Hanover's basketball team overwhelm Ashley by a score of 79-29.

The Wildcats (16-2) will now prepare for their challenge against North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Scorpions come into the 3A/4A Mideastern challenge with a 8-10 record. In their last challenge, North Brunswick trounced South Brunswick (Southport, NC), 72-33, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Screaming Eagle battle the West Brunswick Trojans (Shallotte, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Ashley will attempt to improve on its 8-11 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 10-9 record after their 62-52 league win over Topsail (Hampstead, NC).
