The Boyd County Lions held off the host Blazer Tomcats basketball squad by a count of 72-66 in Friday's league battle.
With the victory, Boyd County advances its record to 12-7 on the year. The Lions host Expression Prep Academy (Huntington, WV) to meet the Lions in a Freelance battle on Saturday, February 1. The Lions enter the battle with a record of 8-8. Expression Prep Academy won 77-74 in their recent non-league battle against Martin County (Inez, KY)
The Tomcats now own a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Woodford County for a non-league battle on Saturday, February 1. Blazer will meet a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 62-60 league loss to Collins (Shelbyville, KY). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 10-7.
