In Friday's league contest, the visiting China Spring Cougars basketball team scored a close 56-51 triumph over the Lorena Leopards.

The Cougars (13-16) will now prepare for their contest against Robinson (Robinson, TX). The Rockets go into the 4A Region III District 23 contest with a 11-20 record. In their last contest, Robinson was tipped by Gatesville (Gatesville, TX), 63-44, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Leopards confront the La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Lorena will attempt to better on its 16-15 season record. The Pirates go into the contest with a 14-2 record after their 62-37 league win over Connally (Waco, TX).
