In Friday's league contest, the host Pleasant Valley Spartans basketball team scored a good 66-49 triumph over the Clinton River Kings.
The Spartans (9-7) will now prepare for their contest against Muscatine (Muscatine, IA). The Muskies go into the Mississippi contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, Muscatine topped Davenport Central (Davenport, IA), 71-58, in a league contest.
In their next game, the River Kings battle the Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Clinton will attempt to better on its 0-15 season record. The go into the contest with a 7-8 record after their 80-65 non-league win over Northeast (Goose Lake, IA).
