The Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) basketball were winner over the visiting Estill County Engineers (Irvine, KY), 60-51 in Friday's league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 13-6 record. They play next when they host Johnson Central for a non-league bout on Monday, February 3. Powell County will play a Golden Eagles team coming off a 75-65 non-league win over Pike County Central (Pikeville, KY). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, Estill County falls to 10-11 on the campaign. The Engineers host Lee County (Beattyville, KY) to play the Bobcats in a District 56 bout on Tuesday, February 4. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 4-16.
