The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Heritage Hawks (Newnan, GA) and the host St. Mary's Academy Bobcats (Fairburn, GA), observed Heritage's basketball team overwhelm St. Mary's Academy by a score of 75-37.
The Hawks (17-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Furtah Prep (Acworth, GA). The Falcons come into the GIAA AA Region 1 challenge with a 19-4 record. In their last challenge, Furtah Prep was routed by Lakeview Academy (Gainesville, GA), 79-53, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Bobcats encounter the LaGrange Academy (LaGrange, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. St. Mary's Academy will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The come into the challenge with a 12-5 record after their 69-63 league win over St. George's (Milner, GA).
