The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Highland Bulldogs (Highland, IL) and the host Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL), observed Highland's basketball team overcome Jersey by a margin of 48-37.

The Bulldogs (14-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 18-5 record. In their last challenge, Breese Central defeated Roxana (Roxana, IL), 65-36, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Pittsfield Saukees (Pittsfield, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 1. Jersey will attempt to better on its 7-17 season record. The Saukees come into the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 63-42 non-league loss to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL).
