The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Lanham Christian Lions (Lanham, MD) and the host Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs (White Plains, MD), observed Lanham Christian's basketball team overwhelm Southern Maryland Christian Academy by a score of 71-49.
The Lions (17-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Avalon (Wheaton, MD). The Black Knights come into the Maryland Independent challenge with a 10-9 record. In their last challenge, Avalon trounced Calverton (Huntingtown, MD), 82-46, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the King's Christian Academy Eagles (Callaway, MD) in a Maryland Independent challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Southern Maryland Christian Academy will attempt to improve on its 14-7 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 6-16 record after their 74-66 non-league win over North Point (Waldorf, MD).
