The Newport Greyhounds basketball team scored 66 points and limited the visiting Manila Lions to 59 in the Greyhounds league triumph on Friday.

The Greyhounds now have a 21-6 record. They play next when they travel to Hoxie for a 3A Region 3 game on Tuesday, February 4. Newport will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 68-36 league loss to Osceola (Osceola, AR). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-13.

With the loss, Manila falls to 7-12 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Marmaduke (Marmaduke, AR) to confront the Greyhounds in a non-league game on Tuesday, February 4. The Greyhounds go into the game with a record of 11-15. Marmaduke won 72-36 in their recent league game against Buffalo Island Central (Monette, AR)
