West Virginia High School Basketball - Midland Trail knocks off Summers County

January 31, 2025: Hico, WV 25854

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) and the visiting Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV), observed Midland Trail's basketball team overcome Summers County by a score of 48-37.

The Patriots (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Greater Beckley Christian (Prosperity, WV). The Crusaders come into the Coalfield A challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Greater Beckley Christian gained a win over Webster County (Upper Glade, WV), 75-47, in a league bout.

With the loss, Summers County falls to 1-10 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Nicholas County (Summersville, WV) to play the Grizzlies in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 1. The Grizzlies go into the bout with a record of 5-7. Nicholas County won 70-50 in their recent non-league bout against Braxton County (Sutton, WV)
