In Friday's league test, the Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) basketball squad knocked off the host West Allegheny Indians (Imperial, PA), by a score of 50-41.

Next, the Spartans clash with the Hoover Vikings (North Canton, OH) in a non-league test, on Sunday, February 2. Montour will attempt to improve on its 17-1 season record. The Vikings come into the test with a 12-5 record after their 62-22 league win over Lake (Uniontown, OH).

The Indians (6-10) will now prepare for their test against Moon Area (Moon Township, PA). The Tigers come into the WPIAL 5A 4 test with a 14-4 record. In their last test, Moon Area beat Mars (Mars, PA), 64-54, in a league test.
