The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC) and the host Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), observed Southern Lee's basketball team overcome Pinecrest by a margin of 46-32.
The Cavaliers (17-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Hoke County (Raeford, NC). The Bucks come into the 3A/4A Sandhills challenge with a 7-12 record. In their last challenge, Hoke County dropped by Richmond (Rockingham, NC), 89-62, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Patriots battle the Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Pinecrest will attempt to better on its 12-6 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a 8-9 record after their 60-52 league win over Hoke County (Raeford, NC).
