The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) and the visiting Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), observed Scotland's basketball team edge Union Pines by a margin of 65-59.
The Fighting Scots (4-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC). The Rams come into the non-league challenge with a 3-14 record. In their last challenge, Purnell Swett was tipped by Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC), 63-59, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Vikings battle the Richmond Raiders (Rockingham, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Union Pines will attempt to better on its 12-7 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 11-7 record after their 89-62 league win over Hoke County (Raeford, NC).
