In Friday's league contest, the host Shallowater Mustangs basketball team scored a good 69-51 triumph over the Slaton Tigers.

The Mustangs (13-4) will now prepare for their contest against Idalou (Idalou, TX). The Wildcats go into the 3A Region I District 2 contest with a 19-10 record. In their last contest, Idalou topped Dimmitt (Dimmitt, TX), 59-51, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Muleshoe Mules (Muleshoe, TX) in a 3A Region I District 2 contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Slaton will attempt to better on its 22-6 season record. The Mules go into the contest with a 1-15 record after their 66-59 league loss to Friona (Friona, TX).
