In Friday's league test, the Alamo Navajo Cougars (Magdalena, NM) basketball squad got by the host Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM), by a score of 41-34.
Next, the Cougars clash with the Corona/Vaughn Cardinals (Corona, NM) in a A District 3 test, on Tuesday, February 4. Alamo Navajo will attempt to improve on its 7-12 season record. The Cardinals come into the test with a 13-3 record after their 56-14 non-league win over San Jon (San Jon, NM).
The Eagles (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM). The Grizzlies come into the A District 3 test with a 0-15 record. In their last test, Carrizozo was nipped by Grady (Grady, NM), 53-6, in a non-league test.
