In Friday's league test, the Austin Mustangs (Houston, TX) basketball squad trounced the visiting Sharpstown Apollos (Houston, TX), by a score of 42-19.

Next, the Mustangs clash with the Galena Park Yellowjackets (Galena Park, TX) in a 5A Region III District 21 test, on Tuesday, February 4. Austin will attempt to improve on its 12-9 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the test with a 15-11 record after their 45-9 league win over Westbury (Houston, TX).

The Apollos (0-15) will now prepare for their test against Madison (Houston, TX). The Marlins come into the 5A Region III District 21 test with a 1-20 record. In their last test, Madison was routed by Waltrip (Houston, TX), 34-31, in a league test.
