The Clare Pioneers basketball team scored 47 points and limited the host Standish-Sterling Panthers to 28 in the Pioneers league triumph on Friday.

The Pioneers now have a 10-4 record. They play next when they travel to Meridian for a Jack Pine game on Wednesday, February 5. Clare will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 62-17 league win over Harrison (Harrison, MI). The Mustangs record now stands at 11-2.

With the loss, Standish-Sterling falls to 10-6 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Ithaca (Ithaca, MI) to confront the Yellowjackets in a non-league game on Monday, February 3. The Yellowjackets go into the game with a record of 5-8. Ithaca won 73-3 in their recent non-league game against Carrollton (Carrollton, MI)
