Virginia High School Basketball - Western Branch overwhelmed by Deep Creek

January 31, 2025: Chesapeake, VA 23321

In Friday's league test, the Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA) basketball squad trounced the host Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA), by a score of 73-28.

Next, the Hornets clash with the Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) in a Southeastern test, on Tuesday, February 4. Deep Creek will attempt to improve on its 11-5 season record. The Warriors come into the test with a 12-2 record after their 66-19 league win over Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA).

The Bruins (9-3) will now prepare for their test against Smithfield (Smithfield, VA). The Packers come into the non-league challenge with a 5-10 record. In their last challenge, Smithfield was trounced by Warhill (Williamsburg, VA), 53-20, in a league challenge.
