The New Deal Lions nipped the host Floydada Whirlwinds basketball squad by a final score of 44-38 in Friday's league outing.
Next, the Lions clash with the New Home Leopards (New Home, TX) in a 2A Region I District 4 outing, on Tuesday, February 4. New Deal will attempt to upgrade on its 21-11 season record. The Leopards enter the outing with a 23-7 record after their 61-30 league win over Floydada (Floydada, TX).
The Whirlwinds (14-14) will now prepare for their outing against Abernathy (Abernathy, TX). The Antelopes enter the 2A Region I District 4 outing with a 24-8 record. In their last outing, Abernathy got by Tahoka (Tahoka, TX), 86-27, in a league outing.
