The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Willamette Wolverines (Eugene, OR) and the host Grants Pass Cavemen (Grants Pass, OR), observed Willamette's basketball team overcome Grants Pass by a margin of 51-43.

The Wolverines (14-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Sheldon (Eugene, OR). The Irish come into the 6A Southwest challenge with a 10-8 record. In their last challenge, Sheldon dropped by North Medford (Medford, OR), 52-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cavemen battle the Roseburg Indians (Roseburg, OR) in a 6A Southwest challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Grants Pass will attempt to better on its 13-4 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 5-11 record after their 45-27 league win over South Eugene (Eugene, OR).
