In Friday's league battle, the visiting Westwood Panthers basketball squad scored a nice 43-34 victory over the Groesbeck Goats.
With the victory, Westwood advances its record to 8-16 on the year. The Panthers host Fairfield (Fairfield, TX) to meet the Eagles in a 3A Region III District 20 battle on Tuesday, February 4. The Eagles enter the battle with a record of 26-5. Fairfield won 59-23 in their recent league battle against Elkhart (Elkhart, TX)
The Goats now own a 9-20 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Normangee for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 4. Groesbeck will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 51-49 league win over Latexo (Latexo, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 8-19.
