In Friday's league contest, the visiting Morehead Panthers basketball team scored a close 37-34 triumph over the McMichael Phoenix.

The Panthers (2-14) will now prepare for their contest against T.W. Andrews (High Point, NC). The Red Raiders go into the 2A Mid-State contest with a 16-1 record. In their last contest, T.W. Andrews nipped Lexington (Lexington, NC), 59-37, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Phoenix confront the Walkertown Wolfpack (Walkertown, NC) in a 2A Mid-State contest, on Tuesday, February 4. McMichael will attempt to better on its 3-14 season record. The Wolfpack go into the contest with a 0-8 record after their 57-21 league loss to North Forsyth (Winston-Salem, NC).
