In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Galax Maroon Tide basketball team scored a big 46-13 triumph over the Bland County Bears.
The Maroon Tide (9-0) will now prepare for their contest against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Maroons go into the non-league contest with a 1-4 record.
In their next game, the Bears battle the Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, February 1. Bland County will attempt to better on its 1-3 season record. The Rockets go into the contest with a 12-2 record after their 46-31 non-league loss to Giles (Pearisburg, VA).
