In Friday's non-league test, the Surry County Cougars (Dendron, VA) basketball squad defeated the host Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech Dragons (Petersburg, VA), by a score of 44-29.

Next, the Cougars clash with the West Point Pointers (West Point, VA) in a non-league test, on Monday, February 3. Surry County will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Pointers come into the test with a 6-9 record after their 45-27 non-league loss to King William (King William, VA).

The Dragons (1-11) will now prepare for their test against Windsor (Windsor, VA). The Dukes come into the non-league test with a 2-12 record. In their last test, Windsor went down by Franklin (Franklin, VA), 51-32, in a non-league test.
