In Friday's non-league contest, the host Floyd County Buffaloes basketball team scored a big 71-23 triumph over the Patrick County Cougars.
The Buffaloes (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Cavaliers go into the non-league contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Carroll County was trounced by James River (Buchanan, VA), 41-40, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Cougars battle the Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, February 3. Patrick County will attempt to better on its 2-10 season record. The Cavaliers go into the contest with a 5-9 record after their 58-52 non-league win over Nelson County (Lovingston, VA).
