The Mount Miguel Matadors basketball team scored 73 points and limited the visiting Monte Vista Monarchs to 36 in the Matadors league triumph on Friday.

The Matadors now possess a 17-3 record. They play next when they host Steele Canyon for a game on Tuesday, February 4. Mount Miguel will confront a Cougars team coming off a 88-19 league win over Monte Vista (Spring Valley, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 5-10.

With the loss, Monte Vista falls to 3-20 on the campaign. The Monarchs host El Capitan (Lakeside, CA) to confront the Vaqueros in a game on Tuesday, February 4. The Vaqueros go into the game with a record of 4-17. El Capitan lost 63-40 in their recent league game against Helix (La Mesa, CA)
