Mayfield Cardinals (Mayfield, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Ballard Memorial Bombers (Barlow, KY), 57-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Mayfield upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Graves County (Mayfield, KY) to play the Eagles in a District 3 bout on Friday, January 7. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-2.

Next up, the Bombers play the Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 6. Ballard Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 50-26 non-league win over Joppa-Maple Grove (Joppa, IL).
