The Galax Maroon Tide basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting Grayson County Blue Devils to 43 in the Maroon Tide league triumph on Tuesday.

The Maroon Tide now sport a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fort Chiswell for a Mountain Empire contest on Friday, January 7. Galax will meet a Pioneers team coming off a 66-38 league loss to Auburn (Riner, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 10-2.

The Blue Devils (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Trojans enter the non-league contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, Alleghany nudged Grayson County (Independence, VA), 46-43, in a non-league contest.
