Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Wayne Academy Jaguars (Waynesboro, MS) and the host Newton County Academy Generals (Decatur, MS), saw Wayne Academy's basketball squad hold off Newton County Academy by a count of 25-20.
With the victory, Wayne Academy upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Laurel Christian (Laurel, MS) to play the Lions in a challenge on Friday, January 14. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 3-2.
Next up, the Generals play the Kemper Academy Rams (DeKalb, MS) in a challenge, on Friday, January 7. Newton County Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record.
