The Amelia County Raiders basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Cumberland Dukes to 44 in the Raiders league triumph on Wednesday.
The Raiders now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Buckingham for a James River contest on Friday, January 6. Amelia County will play a Knights squad coming off a 60-47 league win over Nottoway (Nottoway, VA). The Knights record now stands at 6-3.
Next up, the Dukes play the Randolph-Henry Statesmen (Charlotte Court House, VA) in a James River bout, on Friday, January 6. Cumberland will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Statesmen go into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 64-51 non-league win over Fuqua (Farmville, VA).
