Orono Riots (Orono, ME) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Bucksport Golden Bucks (Bucksport, ME), 65-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Orono upgrades its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Riots host Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield, ME) to play the Huskies in a B North bout on Saturday, January 7. The Huskies come into the bout with a record of 2-6. Maine Central Institute won 70-64 in their recent league bout against Mount View (Thorndike, ME)

Next up, the Golden Bucks play the Belfast Lions (Belfast, ME) in a B North bout, on Saturday, January 7. Bucksport will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 66-42 non-league loss to Medomak Valley (Waldoboro, ME).
