Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA), 80-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Carroll County upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host Alleghany (Covington, VA) to play the Mountaineers in a Three Rivers bout on Friday, January 6. The Mountaineers come into the bout with a record of 6-4. Alleghany lost 73-51 in their recent league bout against Floyd County (Floyd, VA)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) in a Mountain Empire bout, on Friday, January 6. Grayson County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 74-42 league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA).
