In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Central Eagles basketball team scored a good 61-45 triumph over the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets.
In their next game, the Eagles meet the Cheraw Braves (Cheraw, SC) in a AA Region 5 match, on Friday, January 6. Central will attempt to move on its 8-1 season record. The Braves enter the match with a 6-11 record after their 64-52 league loss to North Central (Kershaw, SC).
With the defeat, Forest Hills moves to 4-8 on the year. The Yellow jackets host West Stanly (Oakboro, NC) to meet the Colts in a 2A/3A Conference 44 match on Friday, January 6. The Colts enter the match with a record of 5-10. West Stanly won 90-89 in their recent non-league match against East Rowan (Salisbury, NC)
