Newberry Bulldogs (Newberry, SC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Clinton Red Devils (Clinton, SC), 65-61 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newberry upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Chapin (Chapin, SC) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Friday, January 6. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 4-10. Chapin lost 62-51 in their recent non-league bout against Midland Valley (Graniteville, SC)

Next up, the Red Devils clash with the Union County Yellowjackets (Union, SC) in a AAA Region 4 bout, on Friday, January 6. Clinton will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 9-7 record after their 50-46 non-league loss to Spartanburg Christian Academy (Spartanburg, SC).
