Drew Central Pirates (Monticello, AR) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Dollarway Cardinals (Pine Bluff, AR), 57-29 in a league bout.

With the victory, Drew Central upgrades its record to 8-1 on the campaign. The Pirates host Dumas (Dumas, AR) to play the Bobcats in a 3A Region 8 bout on Saturday, January 7. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 10-5. Dumas won 56-25 in their recent league bout against Smackover (Smackover, AR)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Lakeside Rams (Hot Springs, AR) in a 5A South bout, on Saturday, January 7. Dollarway will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record.
