California High School Basketball - El Capitan crushes Merced

January 4, 2023: Merced, CA 95348

El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Merced Bears (Merced, CA), 57-24 in a league bout.

With the win, El Capitan upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Gauchos travel to Buhach Colony (Atwater, CA) to play the Thunder in a Central California Conference bout on Friday, January 6. The Thunder go into the bout with a record of 4-13. Buhach Colony lost 59-48 in their recent league bout against Golden Valley (Merced, CA)

Next up, the Bears play the Central Valley Hawks (Ceres, CA) in a Central California Conference bout, on Friday, January 6. Merced will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 6-9 record after their 70-45 non-league loss to East Union (Manteca, CA).
