Hopi Bruins (Keams Canyon, AZ) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Pinon Eagles (Pinon, AZ), 60-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hopi upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Greyhills Academy (Tuba City, AZ) to play the Fightin' Knights in a 2A North bout on Friday, January 6. The Fightin' Knights come into the bout with a record of 0-10. Greyhills Academy lost 67-31 in their recent non-league bout against Ray (Kearny, AZ)

Next up, the Eagles play the Round Valley Elks (Eagar, AZ) in a 2A North bout, on Monday, January 9. Pinon will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Elks come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 68-49 non-league loss to Holbrook (Holbrook, AZ).
