The Hughesville Spartans basketball team scored 42 points and restricted the visiting Warrior Run Defenders to 36 in the Spartans league victory on Wednesday.

The Spartans now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Southern Columbia Area for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 7. Hughesville will battle a Tigers team coming off a 42-37 league win over Mount Carmel (Mount Carmel, PA). The Tigers record now stands at 2-2.

The Defenders (3-5) will now prepare for their contest against Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA). The Lancers come into the non-league contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Loyalsock Township edged Bloomsburg (Bloomsburg, PA), 66-34, in a non-league contest.
