In Wednesday's league outing, the Southern Columbia Area Tigers (Catawissa, PA) basketball squad edged the visiting Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES (Mount Carmel, PA), by a count of 42-37.

The Tigers (2-2) will now prepare for their outing against Hughesville (Hughesville, PA). The Spartans go into the non-league outing with a 4-3 record. In their last outing, Hughesville held off Warrior Run (Turbotville, PA), 42-36, in a league outing.

The RED TORNADOES now hold a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to Bloomsburg for a Heartland III outing on Saturday, January 7. Mount Carmel will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 66-34 non-league loss to Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA). The Panthers record now stands at 2-7.
